ImagePro>3D Constructor Qs

hi

since we are on the topic of the 3D Constructor i have a few questions in
regards to its capabilities. we are using a confocal microscope here to
study articular cartilage and i am currently using optims 6.5 for image
analysis but am looking for a good 3d image analysis/reconstruction package.
we are currently using an old version of Voxblast from Voyteck. any comments
from current users and Media Cybernetics on this add-on would be
appreciated.

can you incorporate a z-slice distance multiplier to overcome sample
refractive index effects?
does it include a flourescence attenuation with depth correction facility?
is the calculation of surface area and volume of cells through thresholding
possible?
is the add-on able to visualise 3D data sets with both voxel based images
and translucent ray-cast images?

thank you in advance

regards
daniel

If you click on the Animation path (in the 3D Constructor options dialog)
and click the red circle button, this will set a camera, you can then click
the button the looks like several stacked images (far right from the camera
button) to record the current view as an image in Image-Pro Plus' workspace.
To get a single image, make sure that you only have one (1) camera position
currently set. The middle button on the bottom row will delete the current
animation if you currently have one or more camera positions set. Finally,
putting a check on the Show box on the Animation path line will display the
cameras as red and blue cones on the 3D Constructor window, and they will be
captured as a part of the animation. Removing this check will hide the
cameras, but still allow you to capture an animation (this time without the
cameras).

I have a question about 3D Constructor on behalf of a customer: How do you
save the current view as a 2D image file (TIFF or JPG)? At the moment, the
customer uses screen capture as a workaround, but there should be something
more elegant.

TIA,

Beat
