ImagePro>area of an object

I am trying to calculate the area of 3 different objects on a captured 
image- airspace area, parenchymal area, collagen area
I have got as far as giving them each a colour according to threashold but 
i am not sure how to get the program to give me a total count of area that 
the colour takes up. It seems that discontinuous objects on my image are 
counted independantly and the individual areas are given rather than the 
overall total.
I'm sure that there is a simple answer out there somewhere???
