ImagePro>Background intensity

Hi,once more the problem of an IPP-newbie!

I use ImageProPlus to measure the intensity of cytokeratin fastred staining.
`Till now I  used the count/size measurement function, but after the manual
selection of special ranges and  the use of the automatic dark object
function afterwards I still could only measure the area. The intensity datas
got(naturally)lost on my hard way of discrimination. I am wondering if there
is any method or macro to measure the intensity of the interstice, not the
cells.
