Ceramics, Composites & Plastics

Whether using optical or electron microscopy imaging systems, Image-Pro provides intuitive workflows and protocol development to consistently measure ceramic particles or other similar materials.

Food Analysis

Whether performing quality assurance on incoming ingredients, optimizing processes, or analyzing a final product. Image-Pro provides a range of solutions for the food image analysis and food detection using image processing. It will be helpful for food manufacturing and producing industries.

Count, measure the size, and receive contextual information about your analyzed particles.

Metallurgy

The analysis of metals in either a quality assurance or research environments may be quickly analyzed using Image-Pro, an image analysis software for metallurgy.

For certain types of analysis, Protocols have been developed to provide a complete step-by-step analysis routine.

Particles & Porous Materials

Porous materials and their properties may be studied to find the number of pores per area and pore size distribution and generate a statistical analysis of pore sizes.

With the addition of the 3D Visualization & Analysis Module + Extension, pore volumes and parameters may also be calculated for 3D samples from FIB-SEM and Micro-CT instruments.

Cosmetics & Skin Analysis

The development of new cosmetics provides several imaging challenges when analyzing the results of application of cosmetics to skin, eyelashes, or hair. Image-Pro works with researchers in the cosmetics industry to develop a variety of innovative image analysis solutions.

One of the challenges in the cosmetics industry is to have consistent imaging conditions for proper analysis. The Image-Pro CIE L*a*b color normalization/skin image analysis software provides this solution by using the L*a*b color model for analysis, providing consistent analysis of treatments over time.

Glass, Films & Coatings

Finding defects in glass or the analyzing biofilms are among a wide variety of image analysis applications supported by Image-Pro.

For example, Image-Pro allows for the quick determination of a coating layer’s thickness, allowing the software to measure the mean, max, min and standard deviation of the coating layer thickness.

New Materials

Materials analysis represents an especially challenging problem for researchers analyzing the size, shape, and conformation of materials – especially when it is necessary to analyze the material beyond a single field of view or in its entirety.

Using the optional 2D Capture Module for Image-Pro, multiple fields of view can be automatically stitched together in a LIVE view providing a larger than the field of view calibrated image – which may then be analyzed by our material analysis software.

For post-acquisition tiling and normalization, a sophisticated tool is available to not only stitch images together from large scans, but also to provide a two-pass correction for uneven shading.

Textiles & Fibers

Carbon, natural or synthetic fibers are used in a variety of manufactured goods and industries.

Add the Fiber Separation and Fiber Thickness Protocols to your configuration to quickly measure fiber length, thickness – even with overlapping fibers.
