Q. I just purchased Image-Pro Plus 6.3. Do I need to pay to upgrade to Image-Pro Plus 7.0?

A. If you purchased Image-Pro Plus, Image-Pro Analyzer or any Image-Pro Plus/Analyzer bundles between April 1st, 2009 and July 21st, 2009 you are eligible to receive a free upgrade to Image-Pro Plus 7.0. To receive your 7.0 upgrade, visit http://support.mediacy.com/ip7uac.asp and fill out the required information. If you are eligible for the upgrade, you will receive an Upgrade Authorization Code (UAC) and a link to download Image-Pro Plus 7.0.

Q. I have an Image-Pro Plus plug-in (3D Constructor, AFA, SharpStack, etc.) . If I want to upgrade to Image-Pro Plus 7.0, do I need to upgrade my plug-in module(s) too?

A. Yes, if you wish to continue to use the features in this plug-in, you will need to upgrade to the relevant Image-Pro Plus 7.0 product which includes this functionality. With the exception of the Live Tiling & Live EDF module, advanced features like 3D Constructor, AFA and other tools are no longer sold separately, but are instead available in bundled packages. These Image-Pro Plus 7.0 bundle upgrades are available at very attractive prices. Contact your Media Cybernetics representative for details.

Q. Does Image-Pro Plus 7.0 support network licenses?

A. Yes, Image-Pro Plus 7.0 does support network licenses. If you are a current Network License user, you will need to upgrade your network license key. Contact your Media Cybernetics representative for details.

Q. Will this new version still support my camera and hardware?

A. All camera, frame grabber and controller hardware supported by Image-Pro Plus 6.3 will continue to be supported Image-Pro Plus 7.0.

Q. I have a new 64-bit computer, will this new version utilize all 64-bits?

A. Image-Pro Plus 7.0 will run on 64-bit machines. However, since it is a 32-bit application, it will not utilize all 64-bits.

Q. Will this upgrade overwrite my existing installation of Image-Pro Plus?

A.  No, when you install an upgraded version of Image-Pro Plus, it will install parallel to your old version. You can only open one version of Image-Pro Plus at a time while using your machine.

Q. Will I lose all of my settings that I’ve saved (such as file locations for macros) if I upgrade Image-Pro Plus?

A. Image-Pro Plus 7.0 will not recall the location of your macros or other custom settings. You can however, install Image-Pro Plus 7.0 next to Image-Pro Plus 6.3 (or earlier versions) and use the old installation as a reference until you have had a chance to configure Image-Pro Plus 7.0. Please note that you can only open one version of Image-Pro at a time. Regardless of version, Capture and Scope-Pro need to be set up again.

Q. Can I still use my Image-Pro Plus macros if I upgrade to version 7.0?

A. Yes, you can continue to use Image-Pro Plus macros with version 7.0.

Q. I use the IQbase image database with Image-Pro. If I upgrade to Image-Pro Plus 7.0 will my database compatibility and links be maintained?

A. If you are using IQbase image database (version 2.5 or earlier) and upgrade to Image-Pro Plus 7.0, you will simply need to install the new Image-Pro Plus 7.0 Integration component found on your Image-Pro Plus 7.0 installation CD.  This will ensure that your existing copy of IQbase works with Image-Pro Plus 7.0. If you do not currently use IQbase, we encourage you to install the complimentary 6-month IQbase program included with your Image-Pro Plus 7.0 installation CD. Special pricing is available for Image-Pro Plus 7.0 customers who wish to upgrade to a full copy of IQbase 2.6.
