What’s new in version 9.2
Expand the capabilities of Image-Pro
Improved memory management for iso-surface generation and 3D filters, leading to 4X less memory usage for objects and a 10X increase in performance when counting large numbers of objects in 3D. Also, a noticeably faster start up time of over the previous version.
New sub-sampling presets
Now set your system to the default of Low, Medium, High, or Full Resolution based on the hardware you own. Default settings can always be overwritten, but to improve system performance, subsampling can be an easy way to achieve quick gains.
If your hardware is not keeping up with your needs and subsampling is required, the subsampling factors for X,Y, and Z are now conveniently displayed on the 3D View tab. Click Reload to change the settings.
New Dark Mode
For a easier viewing experience in low light environments a new Dark Mode is available from the applications options dialog located in the File menu.
Japanese language version
Now serving our colleagues in Japan with a local language version fully translated along with context menus and tooltip dialogs.
User feedback portal
From the Help menu, three new options make it easy to send comments straight to Media Cybernetics as feedback, problems, or feature requests. We made it easy because we want to hear from you.
New viewer options
We’ve added a new calibrated grid view, a new off-image axis, adjustable scale bar, and axis rotation wheels for easily tilting your volume in one direction. Additionally, all adjustments to background coloring are now persistent across the Min, Max and Sum views.
Slicer View improvements
Choose from multiple views in slicer to have side-by-side views of 3 different 2D slices and the 3D volume. Now enjoy a cleaner interface with in-quadrant sliders and a 3D view that syncs all 3D View Style settings from the main 3D View.
Object boundaries on Slicer View
3D Isosurfaces and manual measurements are now shown a outlines on the 2D slices in the Slicer view to determine the quality of the segmentation in 3D.
Histogram and LUT View
Channels now have a simple histogram and LUT display for easily adjusting which intensities you will display or make transparent.
Adjust 3D stack alignment to a single object or group of objects that remain consistent throughout the stack. Simply draw an ROI around the object and select Align by Feature from the Process menu.
Volume of Interest (VOI) cropping
A VOI now applies to both the raw intensity data and all Isosurfaces that have been generated on the volume. Set the 3D volume size and Crop to create a duplicate of the image stack with the new modified dimensions.
3D Clipping Planes
Drag-and-drop for priority
Simply select the Clipping Plane you wish to move and drag it above or below other slices or Isosurfaces to set the priority for which elements it will clip when this option is turned on.
New Clipping Plane Options
Now adjust the transparency of opaque planes and identify your planes with a simple color-coded outline. Draw polygons, lines, and angle measurements on any slice and even measure point-to-point distances between two planes.
3D Segmentation Capabilities
Tackle complex 3D objects with this features by generating outlines on any 2D frame to define objects, propagate the segmentation throughout the stack and then create Isosurfaces for complete 3D object measurements.
See results faster when you have a previously segmented 3D channel by adjusting grey-level segmentation real-time using a new faster visualization algorithm.
Rename objects in the data table and update on the 3D view, adjust an object’s coloring and transparency by simply double-clicking for settings. Choose to show object names or measurements separately in options.
Animate and Share Enhancements
New key-frame movie maker
Record stunning movies with 360◦ fly-around’s and revealing fly-through’s, object reveals with clipping planes, and more. Simply set up the view the way you want it to look and record a key-frame, then adjust the settings and record another key-frame. It’s that easy!
Batch processing groups
New grouping and sorting option in the batch dialog so you can easily group by folder, extension, custom index and more. You can also select a custom Image-Pro Premier App to utilize Batch Processing.
A new progress bar for 3D operations such as volume loading now appears in the Status Bar at the bottom of the application in addition to progress indicators for isosurfacing in the 3D View Panel.
Flexible Automatic Updates
Now at program start-up Automatic Update will give you the option to download any available update immediately, or in the future, without forcing you to update at the time of install.
Expanded Licensing Wizard
Now able to add additional seats to a network license, add the capture module to an analysis only to a base product, and be displayed localized in Japanese
Visible Maintenance dates
Maintenance Dates are now visible on the About Dialog and will count down the number of days remaining on the plan. Renewal of the Maintenance plan is available at any time.
